About SistaCare:

SistaCare is a community-care and dialogue group that explores the ways undergraduate and graduate students who identify as Black/Africana women and femmes, regardless of their gender expression, experience campus communities. Weekly sessions will explore experience, impact, and connection and are open to all individuals regardless of their sex, gender, race, ethnicity, or national origin. Have you been seeing more announcements or emails related to AI tools or usage on campus? Do you have questions regarding the recent guidelines that were shared on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the classroom? Would you like your voice heard, or would appreciate having student perspectives brought to the forefront of these conversations relating to AI policy and guidelines? 


The AOK Library would like to hear from you! If you would like to come together in a safe space to discuss AI use on campus, please stop by room 259 in the Library for two student only, student focused, in-person listening sessions happening soon (please see dates and times below and in our events page). Faculty will not be present, and conversations that occur within the space will remain anonymous to protect students' identities. All majors are welcome! 


There will be free pizza and drinks, and participants will be offered the chance to grab free swag, in addition to bonus library privileges!

Welcome to Day 4 of our Spring 2026 Rush Week for Phi Class! This is a reminder that tonight is our Philanthropy Night event, which will be in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building Room 118, from 8PM to 10PM. Learn more about our philanthropy work for Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Attending this event will satisfy 1 of 2 rush week requirements. That means that if you were not at Meet the Fraternity yesterday, you must attend tonight's event. If you were able to attend yesterday's event, your attendance tonight is not mandatory but we'd still love to have you. However, you still must attend Thursday's Physicians of Integrity Night to remain eligible. The dress code for Thursday's Physicians of Integrity Night is business casual, so be sure to prepare accordingly.

What is something you do as part of your position that people may not be aware of?

Many folks know that a big part of my role is supporting the intake process for commonvision's design and animation projects. What folks might not know is that I also have the privilege of working closely with our student staff members on skills like project management, communication, customer service, time management, task prioritization, adaptability, and problem solving.

What is one of the most important things you've learned during your time here?

One of the most important things I've learned during my time at UMBC is the significance of a workplace environment built on intention and collaboration. When I walk into the commonvision space, I feel … good! That sounds simple, but it's huge. You can feel the energy from the students and staff, from leadership, from the space itself, and from the way folks are treated as they enter the office.

What do you like to do for fun and/or is something you are passionate about outside of work? 

Living in Arbutus, I'm very lucky to be so close to many areas of Patapsco Valley State Park. I'm happiest when I'm outdoors on a hike with my family. I also enjoy writing and have been scratching that itch by collaborating with my 6-year-old on short stories, which usually include unicorns, rainbows, cats – or some wild combination of the three.
