    <div class="html-content">Looking for a female tenant for a large, private basement room near UMBC starting December 1. Rent is $580 plus utilities/wifi split between 3 people. Water, lawn care, and regular maintenance are covered by the house owner. The room is located in a very clean and well kept townhouse with 2 bathrooms (1 shower upstairs and one half bath in the basement), in-house laundry, and shared dining room, kitchen, living room, backyard, and storage room. Off-street parking is also included. The house is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood about a 3 minute drive from campus, walking distance to CVS, Giant, Dollar Tree, and Weis, and a short walking distance to 2 UMBC shuttle stops. The 2 other roommates are social but professional PhD alumni/students.     <div class="html-content"><p>The Bioinformatics Computational Biology Association (BCBA) is excited to host <strong>Dr. David Case.</strong></p><p>Join us for this talk on <strong>Friday, November 14th</strong> at <strong>12PM</strong>, where he will be presenting virtually, but we will be meeting in-person in <strong>BIOL 120 </strong>to have a small question panel at the end!</p><p><strong>Dr. Case </strong>received his undergraduate education from Michigan State University, and earned Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University, working with Dudley Herschbach and Martin Karplus. He has held teaching positions at the University of California, Davis, The Scripps Research Institute, and at Rutgers University. </p><p>He is a legend in the field of molecular dynamics simulation of proteins and nucleic acids like RNA. Also he's one of the key figures behind the development of the bio simulation suite Amber (<a href="https://ambermd.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://ambermd.org/</a>)</p></div>

    <div class="html-content"><p>UMBC's <a href="https://politics.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>Institute of Politics</strong></a> released the third and final part of their recent poll of 810 Maryland adults with the results of a set of questions on "Attitudes toward artificial intelligence". </p><p>Maryland Matters has a good <a href="https://marylandmatters.org/2025/11/06/marylanders-are-aware-of-artificial-intelligence-and-they-are-wary-of-it-poll-finds/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>overview</strong></a> of the results, which it summarized as "Nearly all Marylanders responding to a new poll said they are aware of artificial intelligence — and they have concerns."           <div class="html-content"><div>Hello ISC Friends,</div><div><strong>Thanksgiving celebrations are a great time to meet a family and get to know some American culture and foods.  </strong>You can choose Thanksgiving day itself, or the Saturday after Thanksgiving, 11/29.  Some families go away on Thanksgiving but would love to have you on the weekend.</div><div>This is a popular event and fills up fast.  It will be first come first serve as far as getting to go to a family.  We make sure at least 2 students go per family, so you will not be alone.   <Title>Free Public Drawing Workshop with Alx Velozo</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><div><div><div><p>Join us again this Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, 3-5 pm, at the CADVC gallery as UMBC drawing instructor Alx Velozo leads an interactive workshop, exploring and experimenting with observational line drawing directed by our senses.</p><p><strong>Alx Velozo</strong> is a trans and disabled sculptor, educator, and
    performance artist raised in North Florida swamps, currently residing in
    Baltimore, Maryland. Their installations and performances combine cultural
    imaginations of illness, touch, the medical industrial complex, and kinesthetic
    learning models. They most recently received their M.F.A. in Sculpture and
    Extended media from Virginia Commonwealth University, and previously received a
    B.F.A. from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Velozo has
    exhibited, taught, and facilitated in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia,
    Richmond, Miami, and Chilchota, MX. They have taught and consulted for the
    Baltimore Museum of Art, University of Maryland Baltimore County, George
    Washington University, Maryland Institute for the Arts, and Baltimore City of
    Accessible Arts.</p><p>This program is presented in connection with "<a href="https://cadvc.umbc.edu/exhibition/tomashi-jackson-and-nia-k-evans-pedagogy-study-hall/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Pedagogy Study Hall</a>," a research project, exhibition, and publication by Tomashi Jackson and Nia K.
