    <h4>Workshop Overview</h4>
    <div>
    <p>The Learn to Code series will take you through all the steps to make your own site. You’ll learn skills that employers value such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Git. You’ll learn to use tools such as the command line, a text editor, and the web inspector to modify or build your own website. No previous coding knowledge is required, as this course will be perfect for beginners who want to get started in web development, designers who wish to code sites on their own, or marketers that want a little more control over their site.</p>

    <h3><span>Day 1: Intro to Web Concepts + Building a Site with HTML</span></h3>
    <p><span>Objective: </span>To establish an understanding of basic web concepts, build a site using HTML, and deploy it live with Git and Github.</p>
    <p>At the end of the workshop students will be able to:</p>
    <ul>
    <li>Explain the difference between front-end and back-end web development</li>
    <li>Navigate through the terminal</li>
    <li>Utilize a text editor</li>
    <li>Create a site using HTML</li>
    <li>Deploy their sites live using Github</li>
    </ul>
    <h3>Day 2: Foundations of CSS + Intro to JavaScript</h3>
    <p><span>Objective: </span>To use CSS to apply styles to a webpage written in HTML and gain a fundamental understanding of the basics of JavaScript.</p>
    <p>At the end of the workshop students will be able to:</p>
    <ul>
    <li>Style a page using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)</li>
    <li>Utilize the web inspector to make changes to a page using HTML and CSS</li>
    <li>Incorporate JavaScript elements into a webpage</li>
    <li>Utilize variables, strings, and methods to improve the interactivity of their webpage</li>
    </ul>
    <h3>Prerequisites</h3>
    <ul><li>No previous programming knowledge is required</li></ul>
    <h3>Class Materials</h3>
    <ul>
    <li>Laptop with the capability to download a text editor</li>
    <li>Laptop Charger</li>
    <li>Pen + paper or other note-taking materials</li>
    </ul>

    <Title>A Persona Creation Workshop</Title>

          <p>If you’ve worked in User Experience, Sales or Marketing, you’ve likely heard the word “persona”. Though it can be a complex process, persona creation is the best way to be able to get into the heads of your customers in order to provide the tools to improve lives, not just sells products.</p>
          <p>In this workshop, we will create up to 3 data-driven personas based on internal &amp; external research. To keep things interesting, we’re going to choose one workshop attendee’s company to workshop together so please indicate below if you’d like to be a contender!</p>

    <Title>LDAP-Master and Webadmin downtime on 8/9/2016</Title>

          <span>On Tuesday, August 9th starting at 2pm LDAP-Master and Webadmin will be taken down for system maintenance.  During this time account creations and password changes will be unavailable.  Account authentication and logins will not be affected during this downtime.  </span><div><br></div>
          <div>The maintenance window will allow staff to apply needed security and application updates.  The outage window is expected to last two hours with services being restored by 4pm on Tuesday, August 9th.<div><br></div>
          <div>During the outage window account creations will be queued and then processed upon restoration of services.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Technology Support Center at x53838.</div>

    <span>Robert Keim, Chemical Engineering ’17: is working in Houston, Texas as an Adhesion marketing intern with the ExxonMobil Chemical Company. ExxonMobil is a large Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical company Headquartered in Irving, Texas. In Houston, he is working on projects that span from designing spreadsheets and performing statistical tests, to market forecasting and product development. A typical day for Robert includes waking up and going into work around </span><span><span>7am</span></span><span>, working on various projects throughout the day, and then hitting the gym to maintain his impeccable physique. On the weekends Robert has been making the most of his out-of-state experience by visiting nearby cities such as New Orleans and Austin, and participating in exhilarating life experiences such as river tubing on the Guadalupe, to skydiving. He has met a bunch of great people through this internship, and has made a lot of SWE connections simply from wearing his tee-shirt.</span><div><span><br></span></div>
