Regarding the SGA Election, position applications close on March 27th @ 12pm and I'm inviting you to spread the word about this great opportunity!
I attached a PDF file that describes in detail the descriptions and requirements for the positions according to the SGA constitution below, but here is a quick run-down of the requirements to take note of before Students decide to run:
- For all offices, an individual must a UMBC undergraduate student, have at least a cumulative 2.25 GPA, maintain at least a 2.25 semester GPA while in office, and neither be on academic probation nor under disciplinary suspension (whether in effect, imposed for a future time period or held in abeyance).
- For the offices of President, Executive Vice President, Vice President for Student Organizations and Treasurer, an individual must have at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA, and have completed 24 total credits (12 of which were earned at UMBC) to seek or hold office, and maintain at least a 2.5 semester GPA while in office.
- Members of the Senate and Finance Board must attend all meetings: The SENATE meets Monday evenings, starting at 5:30 p.m. If you plan on running for Senator, you must not enroll in a class that will be in session after 5:30 p.m. on Mondays during the 2016-2017 academic year.
- The FINANCE BOARD meets every Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m. If you plan on running for a position in the Finance Board, you must not enroll in a class that will be in session after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays during the 2016-2017 academic year. The FINANCE BOARD REPRESENTATIVE, VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS and the TREASURER must also attend the Finance Board meetings and meet these requirements.
