About This Group
Want a break from your classes? Instead of playing cards, why not make new friends and learn a new game? Mahjong, a four-player tile based game originating in China and popularized all over Asia, is a game where you pick up and discard tiles (like cards) to create a winning hand. It's really easy to pick up and learn, and no prior experience is required. Anyone can join, anyone can learn, anyone can play, anyone can win.
Currently, we're planning to meet online via Discord and play Mahjong with each other through the power of modern technology. When we'll be back on campus you'll be able to swing by Flat Tuesday's in the Commons every Thursday (7-10pm) and Friday (7-11pm) to catch us for a game or two of Mahjong, or just to hang out with your friends.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our secretary or any other officer through email or come join us in the UMBC Mahjong Discord (https://discord.gg/atFWGU).
All events, groups, organizations, and centers are open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
