The beginning of the fall semester brings the busiest time of the year for parking on campus. Below are some tips to help ease your commute to campus.
Get your parking permit:
All vehicles parked on campus are required to have a valid UMBC virtual
permit. Student permits are available online by going to https://umbc.nupark.com/portal/
Arrive Early:
Allow yourself extra time to find parking, so arrive early, especially
during the first few weeks of the semester. This will help reduce
frustration and minimize your chances of being late for class.
Park Smart:
Lots and garages inside the loop always fill up first, so if you plan
on arriving after 10 am, Lots 22, 29, and Stadium will be your best
options. And don’t forget about Lot 25.
Carpool with friends/classmates:
Save money, your health and the Earth when you use
Zimride. Zimride is an online ride-matching service that connects
drivers and passengers within a private UMBC network heading to the same
area. It is free for students, faculty and staff to join the network
and begin searching for matches or posting rides of their own. For more
information, visit: https://zimride.com/umbc/
