The Creative Coders program is designed to teach the fundamentals of computer science to middle school students. To accomplish this goal, each student is assigned a mentor from UMBC who works with them to build a game using the Harvard-developed educational programming language, Scratch. In addition, students will come to UMBC to see what opportunities are available to them at college in the field of computer science.
The program will meet twice a week from 3:00-4:00 at Arbutus Middle School. The time from 2:15-2:45 will be used for twice a week reflection meetings at UMBC.
