Dear Students,
GirlsComputingLeague, in partnership with Capital One, will be hosting an all-day national hackathon on September 14, 2019 to give 300 college students the opportunity to engineer solutions for real-world problems. The hackathon will be held at the new CapitalOne Headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia and any student currently enrolled in a university in the United States is invited to compete!
Our hackathon will feature six tracks of skills and workshops:
- Financial Technology (Fintech)
- Cloud
- Artificial Intelligence
- Health, Cybersecurity
- Education
- Free Choice
We will also include an open track for other innovative solutions, created by the students, that stretches beyond the six main categories. Not only will there be rewards for the most successful teams, but onsite recruiters will scout for summer interns and new hires, especially for students who are graduating from a university or school in 2020.
The Hackathon will be held from 7:30 AM to 5PM at the CapitalOne Tysons Corner M2 Building located on 1600 Capital One Drive – 6th floor Conference Floor, McLean, VA 22102. The cost for entry is completely free, but students must pay for living accommodations, if needed.
Each category has a prize for the top five teams
- 1st place – $500
- 2nd place – $300
- 3rd place – $250
- 4th place – $200
- 5th place – $150
We also have awards that extend beyond the placements for each category, which include:
- Most Innovative product – $100
- Best pitch – $100
- All Girls Best Product – $100
