The FIRST Robotics Competition is hosting an event on March 13th-15th (three day weekend) in which approximately 40 high school teams from Maryland, DC, and Virginia are competing at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, MD.
Each groups robot weighs about 120 pounds and plays a game in teams of 3 on 3 on a field the size of a basketball court.
They are seeking volunteers to assist in the following:
- Helping set up on Friday
- Resetting between matches on Saturday and Sunday
- Disassembling the field on Sunday evening.
These roles do not have any education prerequisites and volunteers will be trained on-site. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to network as each team is mentored by professional engineers and coders from various companies and governmental agencies.
