We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this difficult time. Due to the new virtual environment, we wanted to provide some updates to everyone.
Since many summer internships have been cancelled, we have decided to collaborate with AICHE and host virtual workshops this summer! There will be 6 workshops; they will be once a week starting June 23rd and ending August 10th with a week off after two weeks on. More information will come soon! Companies will include Acell, Avian, and APL!
Due to the plan sent out by UMBC and USM, SWE is preparing to make all fall 2020 GBMs virtual. That means we will not meet in person for any networking events or general meetings on Wednesdays. All events will be completely virtual. More updates will come at the end of the summer.
Finally, for those interested in attending WE20, the national SWE organization is formulating what conference will look like. They are expected to make a decision by the end of the month regarding whether the event will still be held in person. Please reference we20.swe.org for all updates. If the event goes virtual, we will explore the ability to fund individuals to attend the virtual conference.
