"Race-ing Research and Researching Race: Visions for the African Diaspora"
Please join us for this NEW informal roundtable discussion series highlighting the research and work of current and former UMBC Black faculty, post-doctoral fellows and doctoral students from a variety of disciplines and departments!!
The Feb. 29th session topic: "Examining the Experiences of Afro-Latinas/os and Latinas/os of African Descent in a Prince George's County, MD Public Middle School".
Presenter/Facilitator: Dr. Arvenita Washington Cherry, Post-Doctoral Fellow in Language, Literacy and Culture and the Dept. of Africana Studies.
This is the first of three informal roundtable discussions that will be held during Spring 2012. Invited student organization co-sponsors include the Black Student Union, African Student Association, the Caribbean Students Council and the Hispanic/Latino Student Union. All UMBC students, staff, faculty and their visitors are welcome to attend!
