Hello ladies and gentlemen! The administration and advisors of We Believe You have met and made the following decisions:
Our first general body meeting will be on Thursday, the 16th in commons 332. If you do not know where this is, go near the table near the commons info desk and go up 2 flights of stairs, the rooms for commons on the 3rd floor should be on the left. We will have weekly meetings, and for this semester will always be on Thursdays at 12-1pm.
There will also be a discussion group time on Thursday, the 16th at 7pm-8pm in the Women’s Center, which is located at the level right below the bookstore in commons.
If you cannot make these times, that is ok. We are trying things out right now and have only solidified the times for this semester only, since schedules next semester will be changing. In addition, a reminder that one only has to attend one meeting out of the entire year to be considered a member of the group, so don’t feel discouraged if you cannot make the times this semester. There will also be weekly email updates regarding what content is discussed in each meeting.
Last notification is: on Thursday, the 30th, our advisor Jess Myers will be doing a workshop for those who want to learn how to talk/handle delicate situations in regards to a sexual assault survivor. This workshop is mandatory for admin, but optional for our members. It will be held in commons 331 at our usual general body meeting times (12-1pm). We encourage as many of our members to come if possible! This is a great learning experience that the Women’s Center has blessed us with an exclusive workshop, so please take advantage of this lovely resource!
If anyone has any questions, or cannot attend the times/events listed above but would still be interested in learning more or participating in other ways, please feel free to email us!
Thanks to all that are a part of this group! We couldn't do it without you :)
