The Adjunct Edge: Teaching, Technology and Advocacy is the first Annual Adjunct Conference at UMBC, organized by AFAC and sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
The conference will take place on Saturday 26 October 2019, from 8.30-3.30pm. A complimentary continental breakfast and luncheon will be served in the Skylight room.
The program for this one day conference includes presentations by UMBC's adjunct faculty who have received the AFAC Research awards over the past few years as well as musical performances by UMBC's music department adjuncts. The conference will also feature a keynote talk by Maria Maisto, one of the founders of The New Faculty Majority, a non-profit adjunct advocacy group.The afternoon session will focus on new pedagogy techniques, integrating technology in the classroom and adjunct advocacy.
We encourage all UMBC Adjuncts to come to to this creative and informative conference.
Please register for the conference, breakfast and luncheon. There is no cost but we do need numbers for catering. Please indicate if you would like the vegetarian luncheon.
