As we reach the end of classes, the Academic Success Center has prepared a FAQ to help answer any questions you might have about the process of requesting the change from a letter grade to P/F.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Grades are due on May 27. You have until June 10 to petition to change to pass/fail. That gives you some time to see how you did in the course before making a final decision.
- Asian Studies will accept pass/fail for all core courses, electives, and language classes toward the Asian Studies major, minor, or certificate this semester (but only this semester!).
- I'll be available for advising appointments -- email, phone calls, or Google Hangout during the period between May 27 and June 10 if you need to talk through the pros and cons of making the switch. Please do reach out if you want to talk to me (oyen@umbc.edu)
