Election 2020, COVID, Injustice & Radical Self-Care
Post-Election Dialogue and Holding Space Online"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare” - Audre Lorde.
It’s
been a long, heavy, exhausting…. virtual year. Many of us are holding a
lot of anxiety as we head toward the election. Maybe we are nervous
about how things will turn out or unsure of what things will feel like
if we don’t have a clear winner right away, and some of us have been
carrying so much that we haven’t even had time to think about the
election. Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion & Belonging (i3b) is
thinking of you and holding space for you.
Join
us on Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. to engage in collective coping and
community care. We’ll acknowledge that the outcome of the election will
impact us differently and some of us more intensely, and we’ll consider
what it means to practice radical self-care in community with other
Retrievers.
