Scholarships are available for summer study of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi through the Critical Language Scholarship Program.
Many Asian languages qualify for the program. You do not need prior study of Hindi (or Azerbaijani, Bangla, Indonesian, Persian, Punjabi, Turkish, or Urdu) to qualify. You do need at least one year of Korean completed, or two years of Chinese or Japanese to qualify.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals and have completed any language prerequisites before the start of the program in the summer.
