Chemistry Building Electrical Work Complete

All systems are up and running

The weekend electrical work in the Chemistry building is now complete. Power was out for about 4 hours. All systems are up and running, including:

  •  Elevators – Restored
  •  Card Readers –  Restored
  •  WiFi and Routers –  Restored
  •  HHMI Chilled water –  Restored
  • Freezers and refrigerators connected to back-up circuits –  Restored

The -80 freezers I checked were at about -50 to -60 when power was restored.

All cold rooms and warms rooms seem to be working.

All in all, this work was completed exactly as Facilities anticipated, and our back-up power is now more reliable. If you see the electricians around, be sure to thank them for coming in on the weekend.
